Our terroir

The vineyard, between
land and sea

The Domaine du Clot de l'Oum is nestled in the heart of the Fenouillèdes region, between Agly and Têt valleys, on the first eastern foothills of the Pyrenees. A vineyard of 12 ha, whose wines are certified Organic Agriculture since 2000 and produced as naturally as possible. Spread out between 400 and 600m of altitude, parcels of the vineyard are essentially made up of old vines.

A rich terroir

The hilly soils, mainly granitic, with schist and gneiss, benefit from the diversity of microclimates and exposures giving each cuvée a unique identity. Our organic Roussillon wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown on our vineyard. The richness of the soil gives them minerality, freshness and tension.

We elaborate cuvées combining finesse and elegance to express the specificities of our region. Some parcels are located at an altitude of 600m above the village, giving our wines an atypical freshness. All the resources of our soil allow us to produce wines characterized by a moderate alcohol level, making them easily digestible.

Ethical wines

Our way of producing wines implies a respectful management of the vines, environment and soil, allowing to reveal all its potential. Our vines are not irrigated, they are harvested manually and trained in a way that promotes the biodiversity.

The ageing of our cuvées is carried out in tuns and patinated barrels, in order to take advantage of the micro-oxygenation of the wood and to limit the use of new wood to the strict minimum. Our wines receive no imput, expect minimal doses of sulfur (<30mg/l).
